    Rivnuts

I finally got tired of my fishing partner complaining about the screws working loose out of the back seat pedestal base. I ordered some rivnuts and the manual tool that requires two wrenches to set the rivnut. I very pleased with how easily and well the tool worked. I had my worries but it set...

    Trailer Parking

I have to park my boat and trailer inside the fenced in backyard, but pulling it out and backing it in through the slightly inclined side yard has turned it all into a muddy rutted mess. It got so bad that the skinny little trailer tires just dug in this past weekend and I couldn't push it any...

    Bunk length

I've got a 1448 with a Riptide 112 on the back. I just noticed that my bunks stop a few inches short of the transom, and something's bowed or curved because they dont make contact for a few inches past the ends. Since I don't have a heavy gas motor hanging is it a big deal?

    Bow Mount Bracket

So I've made a bracket for my Minn Kota Maxxum bow mount motor out of 1/8" structural aluminium angle. It looks very similar to onthewater's pictured below. I've spoken with him about his and it was recommended to use stainless steel rivets instead of aluminium because they were shearing off...

    Attaching framing to ribs?

Hey folks, So I got the foam board in my boat between the ribs, now it's time to start the framing for the decks. The boat is a PolarKraft 1448 flat. I've got 1/8" x 2" aluminium angle for the framing. I'm doing a cross between these two pictures. A slanted vertical at the sides attached to the...

    Paint? (already used search)

So I've used the search and found a TON of reading. I know that I'll buy by the gallon and just roll it on. A few of you guys recommend "deck and porch" or acrylic paint, but if I'm just buying it by the gallon at Lowe's or HD is the tintable exterior house paint good enough. I saw a few...

    Gluvit and Steelflex

So I'll be stripping the bottom of my jon boat this weekend. I've seen some of ya'll had the steelflex crack at the rivets before. Do you think if I Gluvit the rivet heads before Steelflexing the whole bottom maybe that will prevent the cracking due to slight movement or flexing? I'll be sealing...

    Polar Kraft 1448 Flat conversion

Good morning and hello! Long time looker, first time poster. I've gotten a lot from just reading posts on here but just now joined after a few years of reading. My fishing buddy and I have been fishing out of a 1232 for the past few years. We're in an electric only jon boat club here in the...
