    Aluminum Plate for Transom

    If the plates are just attached to the current transom, they still depend on that thin piece of aluminum for strenght They would have to be, in my opinion, attached to the hull itself.

    Spincast reels - why I use them and a tip for using braid

    Well, if you use the reel correctly, a spincast is all you need. A reel of any kind is NOT A WINCH. Its primary purpose is to hold and cast line. If you use the "pull back on the rod and then reel in the slack as you move the rod forward" method. any reel is fine.

    Just a thought/ As most fish finders run off 12 volts, where to put the battery can be a challenge, especially if it's a lead/acid type. Why not just use a 12 volt battery pack originally made for a cordless drill? Either ni cad or Li Ion. They seem to be infinately rechargeable, don't leak, and...

    The only way I know is to take the tank out, put a little gas in it, slosh it around, and dump it out.

    Fish finder battery mount?

    Although you can't see it in the pictures, I drilled a hole in the top for fish finder and battery leads. Lots of silicone sealant around the hole
