I have a 67 seahorse that I would love to make a tiller motor. Is this possible? Are all tiller handles for johnsons the same if I could find a junk one and take the tiller off of it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, mat

I bought my kit at Lowes. It wasn't a bad price. I think that most kits are about the same price. If Northern has them on sale in stores, I would call the online store and ask them to honor the store price. I know a lot of stores will honor prices like that if you have the cohones to ask.

The shaft of a trolling motor can be raised so that it becomes higher in the water column. There are some great deals out there for trolling motors on C.L. as well as buying new. $200 may buy a new trolling motor in the size you described. $200 will def get you a 35-40 lb thrust one brand...

I think that's a good deal. I knew that I saw the same setup on a different site so I checked and it was Cabelas. Cabelas is $199. So Academy beats it by $29.
