    The First 5 to respond...

Sorry to those who just got them, I was wrestling with getting gammy hooks to work. They just wouldn't do what I needed them to do for the chatterbaits.

    The First 5 to respond...

The first 5 people that post to this thread and then p.m. me I will send one of my sexy shad chatterbaits free of charge... I am using gammy...

Zen and the Art of boat conversion

I wanted to post a little tip that a friend showed me for measuring angles and following framing for making storage areas. The tip is use plastic like you would to cover Windows in the winter. (Clear plastic). Then mark on it with sharpie to show where studs are and trim excess with a razor...

convert a motor to a tiller?

I have a 67 seahorse that I would love to make a tiller motor. Is this possible? Are all tiller handles for johnsons the same if I could find a junk one and take the tiller off of it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, mat

Best deal on LED light kits?

I bought my kit at Lowes. It wasn't a bad price. I think that most kits are about the same price. If Northern has them on sale in stores, I would call the online store and ask them to honor the store price. I know a lot of stores will honor prices like that if you have the cohones to ask.

Zen and the Art of boat conversion

With an 80 degree day in upstate ny, I decided to finally put the steelflex on. Came out pretty good. It isn't that hard to work with until it starts to set up on you, once that happens its awful to work with.

    jon boat conv..

I like the steel studs thing, but I was always under the impression that steel and aluminum don't mix. I could be entirely wrong, it was just something that I picked up wrong. Is there a way that you can rust proof that steel? maybe paint with galvanizing paint? I think that I saw spray...

    March and april months

For the past 3 years I have caught my first bass of the year using a jerkbait. I used x-raps until I started modifying the cheapest jerkbaits I can find to work better than lc pointers. I was getting the 1.00 ones at Wal-mart, drilling a hole in the top front of the bait and a hole in the top...

    poured some bleeders

Dyeguy, pouring soft plastics is fun, and you can fully customize what you want... but I promise that you will not save money by making soft plastics. I have soooo much money tied up in soft plastic making supplies it's unreal. I thought just like you that I would save money by making my own...

Motor advice for new 1432 and 42" vs. 30" Shaft?

The shaft of a trolling motor can be raised so that it becomes higher in the water column. There are some great deals out there for trolling motors on C.L. as well as buying new. $200 may buy a new trolling motor in the size you described. $200 will def get you a 35-40 lb thrust one brand...

Another question for the motor minded folks out there. What do you all think about the 5hp briggs and stratton's? A 4 stroke priced very well. I'm looking at a new one for like 200 more than I would spend on a used motor. Seems like a very thrifty way to go.

I really like how die guy used the simpson strong ties, and I think that my lowes has them so that is one that is next on my shopping list. What type of screws are needed? Galvanized or stainless? I would think that galvanized would be stronger, but stainless would last longer. The strong...

Got the aluminum welding rods finally. Also found a mis-labled 500 cartridge pump for livewell and picked up 2 of them @9.86 each from wally world and stopped at BPS spring classic sale and picked up the stuff in the photo. $20 for each seat, 10 for leaning seat, adj post for 27, and deck...

Zen and the Art of boat conversion

I swear that there is some kind of conspiracy with me getting Aluminum brazing rods from ebay. Last time I had to wait almost 2 month's to get my money back from some guy who went out of business and closed his paypal account. Now I'm at least 2 days longer than priority should take...

Good Deal? Minn Kota TM Endura 45 and MK 105P Charger $170

I think that's a good deal. I knew that I saw the same setup on a different site so I checked and it was Cabelas. Cabelas is $199. So Academy beats it by $29.
