Sold my 1232 Jon, in hopes to get something a little bigger over the winter to get read for spring, and found/bought this the same day.

The previous owner had it listed and registered as a 1970 Jon Boat. Unknown make/model. After being pointed in the right direction with help from the forum, I did some research and discovered that this is actually a 1955 Orlando Clipper 14' with a 1969 Evinrude 25.

Planning to do a restoration/conversion with paint and some decking, hopefully in time for some spring fishing.

Trying to get some progress made on the trailer this weekend. The guide rollers were hard, brittle, and stuck. The old bunks were on a pivot and in desperate need of replacing. Also, they didn't reach the rear of the boat--stopping about a foot shy.

In replacing these, I'm looking at about 24" beyond the rear frame of the trailer. Is this too far, even though it will be what it takes to get to the transom with them?

If your going to use bunks like that turn them on edge.
The real answer is you need a longer trailer. With the boat hanging that far past the rear of the trailer you will never have enough tongue weight to safely tow the trailer.
Have you priced out a longer piece of steel tubing for a new tongue?
