Nice job, well thought out project !
Casting deck: The casting deck was built by a prior owner using 2x4 framing lumber. It was solid still, so I didn't pull it. I only put the new deck on the top.Great build and I'm looking to do the same. Have you (or any of the readers) had any issues with the wooden frame of the casting deck and/or floors? My concern is I can't get any of the angles just right so there's likely several spots where the weight is carried by a small surface area (ie: ends of 2x4). Any tips to get it right are welcome!

I've had good luck in some instances using spray adhesive or PSA backed sandpaper. Stick to hull and after cutting close to fit, sand against the hull itself to fine tune. I've done that a few times to match complex curves.Hand fit? Grinder with sanding pad?
Make a cardboard template first, then grind/sand the wood to fit. Use paint as "bluing" to locate high spots.
Good luck with your project.
The prop is stock.Op, do you have the stock 10p prop on the 20hp? If so, how does it pair with the boat?
I appreciate the reply..how about trolling, are you able to troll slow enough? The prop is stock.
At gross weight (two fisherman & tackle), the boat will do 21-22 mph; I've done nearly 25 if the wind is with us.
I don't know how it compares to others on "hole- shots". I simply don't care about that and never go from standing idle to WOT as fast as I can. It's not the fastest planing boat. But then again, this boat is a small fishing boat, and it's used on smaller lakes, many of which are totally or partially wake-restricted.
I use the trolling motor for that.I appreciate the reply..how about trolling, are you able to troll slow enough?
