Hey guys! Im new to the site and let me tell ya, i love it! I've gotten many ideas for previous jon boat builds from here and this site is all around awesome!

Thought id post about my latest build...

I picked up this boat and trailer and It is a 16' jon boat, i have no idea of the make/model/ or year. It was last registered in alabama and somehow i lucked out and was able to get it titled here in florida. This thing is GUTTED, nothin but ribs left! i got it about 3 weeks ago and have been workin on it here and there and its coming along pretty good, so far i got a motor for it (1995 20 hp Johnson), had to cut a section out of the transom so it would sit lower in the water, painted it, rebuilt the transom, and now i am working on getting the front and rear decks in it. I was originally gonna use 2x4's for supports but figured it would get heavy quick with all that wood, so i chose to use 18ga. galvanized aluminum square tubing, its less than half the weight and twice as strong! I'll keep posting pics i go but here is some of what ive done so far-

Yeah, i love it. Im used to dealing with 12' jon boats and i decided it was time to step it up so i got this bad boy. Its 16' long and 5' wide, and i really wanted it because it was a blank canvas for me to do whatever i want to it. Just got a call from my buddy and he said hes been working on it over the weekend a little and he said the back deck is all framed up so ill have some more pics comin. I cant believe he was workin on it and didnt call me!!

Went to my buddies last night to weld up all the framing and its looking pretty good! still have two more small supports to put in the back though.

It sure looks like a Fisher Marine to me...

Here is mine (14' 1977 Fisher Marine)

Wow, it does! Looks just like it! Maybe thats what it is then. Its pretty weird, there is no make/model/year or anything on the title, just the length... and theres no HIN or any kind of markings on the boat, but after looking at yours i can definitely see the similarities
