Sooo I had a Feathercraft that I had been restoring and it was stolen. Sooo I had been on the lookout for a new project and came across this. 14' 1961 Grumman? This boat is NOS and had been in storage at a marina for its whole life. Never had a motor on it. Was never in water. Never registered. I tried finding info online about it with no success. Couldn't even find a pic of one. Looking to restore it. Scratches and loose paint from years of storage. Looking to be pointed in the right direction with painting, motor, and windshield. Also any info would be fantastic. The top and inside of the boat is painted grey with white paint speckle/splatters, from factory. With lime green primer. Thanks!

What's the length? Here's a listing of all their 1961 offerings. Maybe that will at least give you a model name.

Thanks for the replies. I had gone through fiberglassics with little success. But thanks all the same. Also thanks Shaugh for the link. Pretty awesome. Hydrofoil kit. Perhaps this boat is a 57. Thanks again

It is listed here.. just verify some of the dimensions. But the choices are only 3 boats rated for 40 in 1961. Has to be a deluxe runabout.

Looks familiar, I think I seen that advertised local to me, or somewhat. Looked at the ad a few times. Nice boat. There's another one, used, for sale too.
I live a few miles from Marathon Boat Group. What used to be Grumman.

I appreciate the info. Any thoughts on what do do about the missing windshield? I have been looking at upd plastics for one with close dimensions. Not sure what the best route is. Please advise

I would investigate to see if it's insurable, and go from there.

Positive flotation is a thing.

holly crap dude that boat is amazing.... like its incredible looking, a true piece of art in my opinion... beautiful

Those early Grumman boats were some of the best boats ever made. They were built at time when Grumman was still a privately owned company building aircraft, boats, and truck bodies.
Long before the OMC and Lowe years.

I believe that model was fairly short lived, maybe 61-67 or so.
I think they most likely started building models better suited for all regions vs boats more regionally relevant.
They made some fairly large cabin boats over the years as well, a buddy had a 24ft cabin cruiser that he found out in MO years ago.

Those old Grumman boats were super cool, they're a rare sight these days around these parts.

My favorites were their first welded hull bass boats in the late 70's and 80's, they were almost military grade and completely indestructible. I had a 15ft version in the very early 80's that I hung a 40hp Yamaha on and it spent more time in the air then in the water. I can't count the times I sent that thing airborne off the top of huge wakes or even in the surf never once doing any damage to anything but the spines of those onboard.
While I'm sure it was never how they intended it to be run, the ability to do so was irresistible to a sightly less than cautious teen with his first boat and less sense than most at the time.

I'm sure I terrified more than my share of passengers when they heard the motor throttle up and head into a huge wake and go skyward as the motor screamed wide open in mid air. I was most amazed at how well it popped back up on the surface when I messed up and stuffed it on the down side of a wave. More than once my ex begged me to leave her off anywhere on land, even a muddy patch in the march rather than to endure another wake jump. But she came with me ever time fearing that if she didn't someone else would. (Mainly her sister or best friend).

I fully credit that boat for sparing me many likely miserable years with that woman. Her sister and later two of her friends turned out to be much more fun. None who ever complained about my boat or felt the need to come along to keep an eye on me all day long.
