1967 Johnson Seahorse 18hp

I am looking at possibly buying one of these to use on my boat. Its a 14' Alum v bottom, so i'm sure it will be plenty of motor. My question is, are they good motors? Are the parts easy to find(available at NAPA like most others??)? The guy says all that it MAY need is the carb gone through. What kinda $$ are we talking for that? Just curious. I sold my 5.5 and am stepping up to something a little bigger. Want a 15 hp, but the price seems good for this one. Motor looks to be in good shape, i just want to make sure i'm not buying into a money pit POS. Anyone on here have one, or have had one?? Good/bad?? Thanks!

im not sure about that particular motor but i have a 69 johnson and its been the best outboard ive ever been around. starts first pull every time no matter how long its sat
