1988 Delta (Gregor Marine) CC conversion

I just bought a Delta (Gregor Marine of Fresno, Ca) LX 680 center console boat that had been sitting for several years. It is powered by a 1988 Johnson 28 Special, which I plan on pulling off and selling. My intent is to convert it to a tiller model and use it in our local rivers and bays for fishing and crabbing. I've already pulled the floor and other wood out of it, but still have the motor and center console to pull. I've found a few surprises, but nothing that can't be conquered.

Aluminum boats don't rust they will corrode. If you have rust it's b/c there is some steel on the boat which you will want to get rid of.
I can't tell for sure what is going on in the picture.
