2 hp evinrude what year?

I,ve just bought a 2hp evinrude,numbers on it are E 2RCSH and C 7097214,,,can someone tell me the year please,,,was told it was a 1999 but find it hard to beleive..
 
Last letter could be an M ei E2RCSM not shure eyes are getting older vision not exactly what it used to be,,,,,,,

E for make(evinrude)
2 for hp (2)
R for rope start
C for 8 (as in year) S for 0 (as in year) 80 or 1980
M is the production run for the motor.... if that's the right model number he posted then this is 100% correct...

Did not see your response when I was posting. Our post are a couple of minutes apart. I was stating that the original poster's statement about the motor being a 1999 did not compute. So, I supplied a link to help him evaluate the year.

Thanks guys,was just curious about the real year of the motor,in case of needed repairs,will have the little thing checked out in the near future,motor looks mint hoping it a good one ,but got it for a low price so no big worries there,thanks for your help much appreciated Mike

they are great lil motors..if it looks as good as you say im sure whoever owned it took care of it, you should have a great lil motor.

I would change the pump and impeller and change the gear oil and run some sea foam through it at the very least before you fire it up and start using it so you don't have to worry....cheap to do and easy with basic knowledge....
