24v battery question

I have a 24v trolling motor and I’m wiring with 8ga wire per the minn Kota recommendations chart.

My question: Can I use 8 gauge wire to connect my two 12v batteries in a series or do I need to use a heavier wire gauge to connect my 2 batteries in a series? Thanks.

You can use 8 gauge wire in the series. It will be pulling no more current through that wire than what you are pulling in the wire from the battery to the trolling motor besides it will probably be a much shorter run.
