My buddy "inherited" this motor. It is in pretty bad shape so we need to completly rebuild it. Where can I buy parts, ie. a complete gasket kit? Thanks. The model number is FD-12

You may want to checkout the Antique Outboard Forum. They can give you some direction on parts and help you with your restore.

We pulled the heads today and they have become one piece (if you know what I mean). I guess 22 years of sitting outside without spark plugs would do that  .

For some reason these old Johnson's are haunting me, found an 18hp 1960 Johnson Evinrude in my town. He says its running I'm thinking about offering 250. What you guys think?

Do a search "Antique outboard parts" or "Antique outboards" You will find a bunch of places to check.

ive got a 69 3hp thats like the energizer bunny, she just wont quit goin

they're great motors and easy to work on IMO. $250 for a 50y/o motor though, she'd have to be in good condition for me to picker up
