A toad on a toad

I had the day off today, so I slept in and went fishing in the afternoon. We finally got some rain lastnight, unfortunately the storms did not take the heat with them. It was still hot out, in the 90's, but with less humididty; I was hoping that the rain would turn on the fish. So I headed to my favorite lake, Lake Towhee.

After fishing for about a half hour I move to a different section of the lake and started throwing a topwater frog in the muck. After a few casts I was hooked into a decent bass, around 15". On my next cast I threw back to the same spot in the weed mat, and got another hit, so I continued throwing my frog into the the slime. About a dozen casts later a lunker slammed my frog, and the fight was on. I new it was a good fish due to the hard thumps, but I did not think it was as big as it turned out to be. This fish was 21" and a heavy 5lber.

Soon after I hooked into another decent fish on a 6" junebug senko. This fish was 14 or 15". After spending about 2 hours at the lake I went home for dinner. After dinner I headed back out to some ponds. I fished for about an hour and a half, and ended up with 5 more LM all under 1.5lbs.
Two were caught on a senko and three were caught on a frog.

You're killing me with these topwater bass...the bass down here won't come up to hit a frog any time of the day (morning, midday (yes, I tried), evening, night)

I seem to have lost the topwater bite here too, way to pull that toad outa the salad =D>
