Anyone install a recessed tray on alumacraft MV Tex Special?

I have a MV tex special. 2008 16' alumacraft. I pulled my controll panel and felt under the deck. I felt two deck braces running from front to back right in the middle. Can I still instal a recessed foot tray? I called the alumacraft plant and the guy didn't seem to know if I could or not. Just wanted to ask you guys 1st. There are not many MV tex special alumacrafts around so hopefully someone knows.

My initial thought would be no. If you cut the brace, you would loose deck strength.

However of you could incorporate the tray and the bracing together and possibly add another brace, I would say it is plausible.
