Hello there, I decided to test the AUTOMATIC on my new pump with
all of the rain today. Left the plug in and went out an hour latter
and had about 2-3" of water in the back of the boat.

pump power was on on the main switch. 3 way Rule switch
was set to automatic. NO pump working. I held the switch to
manual and it pumped. put it back to auto let it sit for 3 minutes
like it says. (it turns on the impeller every 2.5 min and if it senses
resistance it stays on till water is gone) NOTHING.

I pressed the TEST button on the side of the pump under water
and it kicked on and pumped the boat out. Still raining and pleanty
of water again but pump is not kicking on.

Defective pump? anyone have any experience with this pump
that could give me some thoughts? My old boat I had the
external float switch and wanted to get away from that as stuff
durring duck season always seems to get stuck on it or under
it and was always a pain in the arse. Well this is not much
better right now.

Also the light on the switch lights when pump in on in manual
mode like it should. When in AUTO it doesn't light but not sure
if that only lights when pump runs. I forgot to look and will
have to check that.

Any thoughts appreciated much

Ah neve rmind, I looked it up online and compared it to the directions I had
and they don't match. This pump kicks on at 2.75" deep. It finaly did
kick on by its self after I measure the water depth in the back of
the boat. Don't know if I like that much water in it before it turns
on or not. May have to look at a different version I guess.
