Hey, new boat owner. I've read the forums here for awhile, finally took the plunge and bought a 1986 16ft Lowe falcon. It has an 86 Mercury "classic 50" for a motor, currently no trolling motor.

The boat sits with the bow a bit high, which isnt surprising as I believe the motor to be a little large for the boat. It also is side console and seems to get a significant lean to the right, especially when I am in it ( I am not a ham planet...I weigh 230).

Should I just get a tube of sand and put it on the floor opposite the console, or is there something I am missing here.

Thanks in advance for responses, ive really enjoyed some of the creativity and individualism expressed in builds and fixes here.

Pic related...its my bote.

NIce boat.. If its heavy in the rear you can add pods which will bring down the bow and raise the stern as far as the sand goes give it a try and see how you like it can't hurt anything… good luck

Yeah - move stuff around or just stand (sit) more towards the middle

That is not the Queen Mary and slight adjustments will really help

I NEVER want to add weight to a boat

Are you saying the right side is low under power or at rest? If at rest the torque of the motor will lift the right side of the boat.
