I'm about to build a deck on my boat. Its 1440. I was wondering what materials to use since my buddy made his out of. A bunch of lumber(2x4s) and that 50year plywood. And it weighs a ton. Would it be OK to use that 50 year plywood 3/4" and use the 12" section on the front of my boat and part of the first bench go hold it and use some of the galvinize brackets to the floor braces with a 2x2. My deck is not going to have storage. My storage is going to be between the first and second benches with a walkway in the middle. They will run along the gunnels. They will be 8" wide at the bottom? Any options will be absorbeed.

2x2s should be fine depending on your weight. I used 2x4s & it did add weight, but it also added stability. Plus I'm rather large. OK, I'm fat. But anyway, I've seen some use 2x4s & run them between the very front & the first bench with no vertical support & lay plywood on top.

Thanks. I only weiigh 170 and my buddy weighs less than me. But only 1 will be on deck at a time.

2x2's should be sufficient depending on how you setup the supports. i used 2x3s and its plenty sturdy.. and im a big guy aswell.. Plywood is where the majority of the weight comes from, not the supports. if you make a strong support structure you can go quite a bit thinner on the plywood and keep alot of that extra weight off
