Just wondering whats the best approach on carpet install, do you guys install the floor first than do the carpet over that or carpet it then install. just wondering pros and cons. thanks

On custom modded boats it seems as most fit the floor, take it out, carpet it and the install the floor. On factory carpeted boats it seems they carpet in place.

The above is based on my observations while surfing tinboats. Personally I will be carpeting the floor and then installing it.

I carpeted first, then secured the floors with screws. I wanted every piece of the deck to be able to be removed, if needed.

Carpeted deck panels screwed to the deck framing is OEM for todays aluminum boats, they do this so they won't have to destroy the deck finish to get below deck to make any repairs or inspections.

The person that installs the decking and then the carpet over the deck fasteners kicks himself in the butt if he ever has to remove the decking because you have to rip up all the carpet, then you have to sand off all the old carpet glue to find the screws to remove the decking... truly a rookie mistake.

THANKS EVERYONE! I have the next week off so I will be digging into it pretty deep.
