Hi eveyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to jon boats. I just recently purchased a 14x 56 gamefisher. I am about to start the decking process and was wondering where the best place is to get carpet. Oh buy the way I'm on a college budget :(

hello and welcome congrats on your build you should check out your local lowes or home depot they usally stock a outdoor carpet with rubber backing

Lowe's sells and outdoor carpet in a 6' roll that is like $16 and that is what I used. I am happy with it so far and it has seen a lot of use this year.

I just used the same carpet, though I haven't had it long enough to comment on it's durability. The rolls are 6'X8', and are easy to handle (as opposed to 1 large roll), and in my application, 3 of these worked-out perfectly.

Welcome & be sure to add pics of your project!

Welcome Aboard! I used the marine-grade carpet from Lowe's that you purchase by the linear foot. Our Lowe's has it in the carpet dept (naturally, lol) on the huge rolls mounted to the back wall of the department. They have it in 6' widths and 12' widths.

This is what I have done so far.
