Growing up, I used to take my grandmother fishing. She was the type that according to her there was no "trash fish". She kept everything. She could cook any trash fish or fish for that matter and have it taste like flounder or red snapper.

my grandmother would cook possum with sweet potatoes, celery, carrots and onions







and it would taste just like - - - - - - - POSSUM !!


but our elderly generation that lived through the Great Depression and WWII ration years,
learned how to cook just about anything to survive and raise a family.
