these forums are owned by companies that usually own hundreds of forums and the reason they are what the are. i completely agree with the people bailing and this thread shows why i WILL NOT GIVE ANY FORUM A DIME !!! if they die, oh well, BYE.

I have been a part of forums that allow politics, and have little moderation. They all turn into an echo chamber. There is no debate. The loud majority always wins, birds of a feather and all that. If you have differing views, sucks to be you.

Whether or not the thread was pot stirring, and deleting it was preemptive, likely only the OP knows. I certainly couldn't see it going anywhere productive, or remaining rule-abiding. Calling it censorship certainly seems to be a stretch.

I couldn't agree more; this site was established for tin boats and nowhere did it say open to anything else or so I thought, we were here to assist. help and promote tin boats and nothing else from what I read in the rules; other forums allow distraction from the rules / guidelines and all heck breaks loose in some cases. Let's just keep theTIN BOATS site to that TIN BOATS! off my soap box. lol

Gotta love it.......seems to be the way society is nowadays. Entitled a$$hats that sign the agreement, get bent out of shape when they break those rules and get called out for the infraction, then double down with a "cancel culture" mentality.
Seems that attitude has a tendency to backfire on those that employ the tactic.

Just sayin'.....Roger

Agreed, I just want a site where people can extend help and ideas without any BS; what we have here from what I see and if a rule is broken well okay, fix it and move on!

When I come on board I enforce the rules the way the original owner did, in this case, no politics. That was changed to accommodate those who felt politics was an important part of owning a boat.

I provided you with a space to speak your mind when it comes to politics. How does that make me the bad guy in this?

Edit: I'm not trying to be confrontational, but I feel assumptions are being made based on a lack of information.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Some people are just angry and nothing you do will satisfy them.

Yet the thread is still alive and well. You just have to request to be in the political forum. If you wish to remain out, so be it. People can debate, but I see your point.
