Cleaning,polishing and waxing

I only use my boat in fresh water. This boat was my dad's he passed a few years ago and I doubt he ever cleaned or waxed the hull. I have done a little cleaning with dish detergent and a green scrub pad but I know more can be done.

What do you guys recommend for cleaning polishing and waxing?

on a aluminum boat best not to wax and just use polish,,, muddy and hard water stains will embed itself into the wax,,,,,,,,had good luck with sharkhide polish,,,,,,mite head over to the locale truckers supply got some good stuff they use on them big rigs

but then again looking at that boat looks brand new,,,,, nice to have soft water
