Well. I after a long busy winter, I have finally gotten to start on my Lowe 1752 tunnel build. Keep in mind I work on average 60 - 80 hrs a week, and only usd this boat about 10 times a season. I love this boat because its relatively low maintenance and I dont really have to worry about it rotting away. Heres a before pic.

The hull is solid. I have dumped the 4 stroke 30 'rude, and have a mid 90s Evinrude 70 2 stroke being rebuilt now. Extras I have for the build are: Atlas Microjacker, Minn Kota 55 lb thrust I-pilot, fiberglass center console, casting/bowfishing deck up front, cree LED lights for. Ight fishing (texas summers are killer) Lowrance mark 4 dsi (for now) and all new wiring. I plan on using this rig in Galveston bay and surrounding rivers. Im gonna keep it simple, as it is a toy I seldom will use, but want it completely fishable and comfortable for the kids. Like I said, the hull is pretty solid with minimal corrosion that I can see. I am completely open to any suggestions, this is my first build after all. Thanks guys.

Will16120, yeah the split deck is pretty cool. Im havent made up my mind if I want to turn it into a big storage hatch, or leave it as is.
Gators5220. I have a fiberglass center console that I will rig up and build a riser for. Probably around 6 to 8 in rise. Im 6'3 and that console is just a lil too short for me. Ill utilize the riser box as a place for the stainless fuel cell I will be building. I would like to keep as much wieght off the stern as possible. Im hanging a 70 hp Evinrude back there so I need it light.

I was able to finish the sanding and also replaced the 3/16 pop rivets that hold the floor down. I started to lay the first coat of self etching down, but got called into work.... yay. There goes the weekend. ..

@Smackdaddy, yes. I plan on slappin some on there later down the line. Im looking for a good used aluminum tig welder.

Well. I just got back from the steel supply and brought home a sheet of 11 gauge 5051 for the front deck, console riser, and float pods. Also managed to lay the first coat of primer inside the boat. Now to design float pods and start laying out...

Nice bro. Those look great. Do they sit flush with the bottom of the hull?

Took a much needed break out on the san jac river today. Caught some fat ones on the juglines... gonna make for good eating. Not much progress on the boat though. I need to round up the boys so I can flip it for the steel flex application.

Mine are about 1/2" above the bottom. Read up on them and they explain hydronamics and what position the pods should be in. Mine are parallel with the bottom because I have enough weight in the bow. If I wanted to bring the bow down I would have pointec them down a little to act as trim tabs. I wanted mine more for floatation.

Nice start. Where bouts in Texas? I'm in Katy. Good to see another Tin boater so close. That's one heck of a layout, should provide plenty of room.

Baytown area. Yeah its a slow project but will be worth the long wait in the end.

Quick update. I picked up the cowling and midsection from my mechanic today. Next step. Prep for primer and paint while the powerhead is being rebuilt. Slowly but surely.
