pymybob, Did you check the motor ? What was the price ? Did you get it ?
I also have a mid '80s 9.9 Johnson and don't know what to do with it.
has not been run in many years.

Sorry Johnny, have not been on in a few days. I go tonight to look at the motor so I've not checked out anything yet. I'll let you know how the deal goes.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and grabbed that Johnson 9.9 tonight! FINALLY! I can stop looking! LOL! Fall cannot get here soon enough and I cannot wait to get out now. Thanks everyone for the assistance, advice and opinions on my outboard questions!
