While searching classifieds for a trailer and motor i came across an 16ft "Avery boat" with fiberglass hull, 85 80hp running crystler motor, and a trailer for 500.

Now with the questions

does anybody have an avery boat on here? i did alittle searching on yahoo but all types of boats are pop'n up, so i really have no clue of what type of boat it is.

and does anybody have a crystler motor? are they reliable? im just sceptic because being a mechanic, i personally hate working on crystler's

well thanks for any input. its about 2 hours away so I havent checked it out in person. it sounds like the boat needed alittle r & r but he said the motor runs great. this is put'n me a bind with being half way threw finished with my jon. maybe 2 projects at once wouldnt be so bad

The only way I would take that would be free, and it would have to be real close, or delivered to me, and that is only so I could make a couple bucks parting the motor out (people always need parts for Chrysler/Force motors).

Why a 'glass boat? I've had a few & they weigh a ton  I saw a similar boat in Indiana Craigslist recently for $100. I've had a couple Chrysler OB's and was gonna be nice & give it a 50/50

I have know idea on the motor but it always makes me laugh when I hear someone say a 23 year old outboard is junk.It lastest pretty long,I've heard of some new outboards conking out in less them a year.
ps...I still wouldn't want it

:LMFAO: :LMFAO: :LMFAO: :LMFAO: it is a personal preferance but i think they are still junk

I had a 9.9 Chrysler that was a jewel....I had a 40 that wouldn't have made a decent anchor.....that's where my 50/50 came from

It's not junk because it is 23 years old. It is junk because it is a mid 80's Chrysler/Force.

ALL of those were junk, even when they were brand new.

lol thanks abunch!

just happend when i posted this and left work to go work on the jon at the house, an old lady returned my call about a motor i'd completely forgot about. turns out her husband pass'd away and she has his 7.5 hp sears motor for $125. she said it wasnt that old, but ill find out when i go look at it after work, she didnt seem to know much about it, just said it'll start rite up.
any info on a "sears" motor. again, a motor ive never been around before  thanks again

That's because they couldn't keep it running and it's been sitting in storage for 22 1/2 years.
