Dual battery .... need switch?

I have 2 new 27/105ah batteries, after the last time on the water and running bow and stern trolling motors, fish finder, phone charger .... i came back home and threw the battery on the charger and was down to 50%

It makes me want to add a second battery to get more amp hours. Couldnt i just jump the two in parallel and connect my electronics wires to one of the batterys and this would just be like having a double sized amp hour battery?

Could i leave them connected and charge them together while connected to eachother?

I ask this because i always see a battery selecter switch suggested but i dont have a electric start on my outboard so just need a bigger battery juice reserve that wont drain a battery so bad.

Yes you could, the switch would allow you to switch between batteries of course and you could use them both at once and you could charge them bot together at the same time if you wanted to, although that is usually not recommended. The good thing about a switch is that it allows you to isolate the batteries from unintentionally draining if not in use. It is easier than disconnecting them.

Ok thanks... is that switch something easily found? Like say at walmart battery isle or do i need to order it online?

Yes i bet walmart would have it, if not you can order one from any boat parts place.
