DVA multimeter

Has anyone ever used a dva multimeter to check a power pack on an outboard?

I used one to check the magneto ignitions on my Mercury, what are you having trouble doing?

I m trying to check the power pack on a 125 mariner, but the manual says the meter I need to check it with has to be a DVA p/n 91-99750. Did you use a Meter that was specfied in a manual or did you use any DVA meter?

I would think any meter that is able to read the peak voltage would be fine. I used a Fluke, but I don't remember the exact model off hand. I will check which model I had though.
