i have a 80's model 25hp motor. I want to add electric start to it . Is this possible and where do I find a conversion

yea, I have an '81 25hp. I found the starter/bracket on ebay. If you want to charge your battery when running, then you'll need to buy a complete electric starter kit or find a parts motor with electric start.

I had an '89. The flywheel had to be replaced and the kit cost over $700. I now have an older johnson with electric start and it cost me $200.

I think you'll find that it will cost more to do it than it will be worth to you. I checked on one for my 9.9 johnson and it was going to cost more to do it than i paid for the motor

I found a parts motor with electric start to add it to mine. So worth it, cost about $200.
