Hello all, just thought I would say thanks to everyone for sharing all their knowledge. I have purchased a Lowe 14' jon that I am modifying and adding a jet outboard. I am about a week or so from getting it on the water but I have a ton of questions and I wanted to share my experiences as well. The picture below is how she looked when I picked it up.

Being a previous drift boat owner, I wanted a few things on this boat that are pretty standard on a drift boat. The first thing was full length rod tubes.

Also I wanted my anchor to be mounted right off the bow and will be controlled from the middle bench.

And of course bigger casting decks front and back.

And last but not least the new powerplant

Thanks, Yes these are great because the tube protects the rod from being stepped on. Cutting PVC pipe was a learning experience. It gets real messy and is fairly hard to do well. I used a cutting disk on my rotary tool.

Looks good!! Next time try ripping the PVC on a table saw. I've used table saws & chop saws on PVC for years & it's much easier to make true cuts.

I'm digg'n that set up, let us know what you get on the gps. I run a 30hp at the pump on a glass skiff, good luck.
