I've been studying this site for a couple of weeks, and I am positive I can get the best advice from this site. I am buying my first jon boat this month. The only fishing I do is; limb-lining, trotlines, and jug fishing. I have narrowed my choices down to two. Both are Lowe brand boats; 1448T- 14' Flat 20" transom or 1448MT- 14' Modified-V 20" transom. Most of my fishing is done in shallow rivers, where it is not rare to climb out of a boat and pull it across gravel. My question is which boat would best fit my needs? The motor will be a 15HP Mercury outboard four-stroke 2009 model tiller steer. I will be setting up this boat for mostly night fishing. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I would go with a flat in your case because it sounds like your going to spend a lot of time hanging over the side of the boat. It will be more stable, a inch or two shallower draft, and you will lose a little room in a mod-V.
