I'm going to get another pole tomorrow and I'll let you know. The leg room was never the problem with me, it was that I had no give in the previous pedestal I was on. As far as how far back it's mounted - well, it's as far back as it will go on my front deck.
Unless you've never sat on one of these pedestals, you really don't know the difference. I've sat in bassboy's pedestal seats, and I've sat in mine... mine seems to be more comfortable. But hopefully I'll be be able to get another pedestal tomorrow and get out on the water for a few hours tomorrow. I'll let you know then how it is.
