Question.....

Placement of foam in my boat, does the foam help to make the boat sit higher in the water? In other words... If I put 2 or 4 layers across the bottom of my boat.. its not going to float any higher in the water than with no foam right?
I assume the foam is for when the weight of the hull is exceeded with the weight of the water inside the boat due to flooding or capsizing. That the foam keeps the boat from being completely submerged.
 
Yes, it's only to keep the boat from completely sinking if it gets swamped with water.
 
Your boat will actually sit lower in the water with foam installed than without due to the extra weight of the foam. Anything that you add to your boat that has weight will cause this. The flotation foam is to keep your boat from going to the bottom if it capsizes or is swamped.
