Hello, I am new to Tinboat. I bought my first boat today! It is a 78? Glastron with a 78 Johnson 115. I watched the boat on the water before I bought it and Forward worked very well, but the gear selector (Command Control center) won't slide back into Reverse. I was aware of this before I bought it. I was told the motor will spin the propeller in reverse if adjusted on the motor itself (did not witness that firsthand). Any advice, troubleshooting suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated. If pics would help just let me know. Looking forward to hearing from you and learning from you!

Hey everyone, we got it figured out and didn't spend any money doing it! Glad my Uncle was here to help! It was in the housing of the shifter lever. Someone had taken it apart previously and assembled the plastic gear teeth one spot the wrong way so when the lever would try to go into reverse it would bind up. I will take it back apart sometime next weekend and post pics to show what I am talking about since I do not know exactly what all the parts are called.

I also tested the trolling motor that came with the boat (the guy I bought it from never hooked it up) and found out it worked as well. Next steps for me are tracing wires and purchasing batteries to try to get my lights, gauges, and trolling motor hooked up. I will likely post progression in a different forum.

Couple more weeks until my son and I are on the water!
