I am decking the top part of a 4x6 platform with a plastic type material called Starboard/ Seaboard. I need to glue marine indoor/outdoor carpeting to this. This Starboard material is supposedly very hard to adhere to. Does anybody have suggestions on how to make this work? Thanks

I'm not real familiar with the Starboard material, but have heard that it is similar to kitchen cutting boards, not sure though. Would a wire brush/wheel rough it up enough to give the carpet glue something to grip to? :?:

Manufacturer claims that no adhesive will bond to this material, but I am determined to find a way and keep on searchin'.

Oooookay........... [-o<
Laminate a sheet of plywood on top of it. I'm guessing you chose the product to prevent replacing it later.....kinda defeats the purpose. Or, wrap the carpet & screw it down on the bottom side (no adhesive), then install the deck.
