Hey Everyone,

I have a humminbird 768 Combo ready to install. Does anynoe know if the GPS puck can be mounted on a vertical surface or does it need to point up. I can make a easier and cleaner install if I can mount it on the side of a consol.

Thanks, River

Its better to have it on a flat surface because its like a transducer. It points in the direction its facing so def want it pointing up. Second, a good idea is to place the puck in the rear of the boat close to the same location of the transducer. This allows you to be more accurate when place waypoints at the exact fishing spot your sonar was displaying.

I think it needs to point up.

The tractor guidance systems I sell are very picky about that.
Even mounting on a sloped hood affects performance.

Thanks guys, I kind of figured that, just hoping. MD fisherman, What area are you in. I in Montgomery county, favorite( closest) smallmouth water is Whites Ferry.
