We went to Lake of the Ozarks the last week of June.Took the Grandsons with us(Joey-5 and Dominick-4).Joey didn't fish,he said it was too hot and he was sweating too much.Temps were in the high 90's and humidity was75-90%.
Dom and I toughed it out and did some fishing together for a couple of days before they went home.
On the 2nd day we pull up in a cove with some shade. After about 20mins. Dom has technical problems with his rig.We are both using Spearworms(me 7in.,him the 4in. version). So, while I work on his rig,I cast mine out and give it to him to reel in to keep him busy. After about 3-4 cranks,I here "Papa,I ...",he hooks into this.

His second bass ever caught,to my knowledge.14.75in./1lb.9oz. largemouth.
I wish I would have had a video cam.He was really into it reeling it in.Just like a pro.

Nice! Great you are getting them out there. My son is the same way about the heat or the bugs  my daughter on the other hand will fish all day long.

Don't be trying to get some credit by saying you "casted it out for him" I bet he skipped the bait 8 times to get under some low limbs on the bank....

Congrats

To tell you the truth Andy, after the hoopla and pics,I cast it out for him again and told him to let me know when he got it in so I could do it again.Needless to say he has to try things for himself, and never casting a baitcaster before, you can imagine the mess I had.By this time, his was ready to go.As I worked to clean up the mess this one jumped on for the ride.

BTW Waterwings, that boy is tough for a four yr old.No matter how hot it was, when I said fishing he was running for the boat.
Here's another shot of his fish.He wouldn't touch it,I guess he's still not sure about that part.

LMAO, I know what you mean, I remember letting my daughter try my baitcaster, allthough she was a little older than 4, I understand the mess...
