I'm a new guy here. I've been lurking for a while and picking up a lot of useful information. I made a craigslist deal and ended up with a nice little jon that I intend to use as my winter project. This will be my first boat mod, so I'm really looking forward to getting into it. I've already rebuilt the Johnson Sea Horse 3HP that came with it. I took some pictures to use as before pics. and I've been working on some drawings of what I want to end up with. I'm plannimg to make the decks out of plywood, but I haven't decided whether to use vinyl or coat it with something. Let me know what you think about the flooring and also if there are any flaws in my designs.

Here's how it came to me

Here are a couple screen shots of what I hope to have as a finished product

Nice Grumman! I wish I had CAD those drawings are cool. I'm going to cover the aluminum on my Grumman's floor with marine vinyl flooring called nautolex.

I've done a lot of reading about the nautolex, it sounds like some good stuff. For the CAD drawings I use the free version of Google Sketch Up. Its a 3D program that is designed to be very simple to use. I watched a few YouTube videos and I was hooked. Its what I use for all my shop drawings too. Give it a try: https://www.sketchup.com

I finally got her out on the water today. The good news is I don't have any leaks. The bad news is that the motor still has a problem. I guess I'll have to do a little more tuning. It just acts like it's out of fuel. At least I can go forward with mods and not have major leaks to address.
