Hi guys, I might be over thinking this a little..lol. I want to deck out my boat from the front seat forward. Although, I'm not a fan of taking the styrofoam out of seats to mount studs...I would't mind if there was a material to replace the existing. I figure I could get away with 15/32 for floor as long as I use styrofoam board between the ribs. 3/8 to 1/2 for deck. I honestly don't even know what kind of jon boat it is..lol. I just know it's 12ft and 36" wide. I was thinking about a stand alone frame but I don't want the risk of shifting...HELP!! I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=198yNfNQAFk this design. if I could replace the foam in the seats...and how in the world do I get the plywood mounted to the bench seats? Not really wanting to go drilling a bunch of holes in the boat...haha! Any help would be great!!! Thanks a bunch!!

Although not a jonboat, I did a standalone platform on my 52' Alumacraft 16'.

I have taken it out a few times, and noticed very little shifting if any at all....

And if it got out of control, I already know how I can solve it, by placing essentially a "lip" that would hold it in place by the very front "mini" bench.

I decided to go stand alone so that if I ever needed to get down in the front of the boat for any repairs, I would not have to remove the deck and do any more damage.

Just my 2 cents.
