Homemade surface drive mud motor

I seriously debated going this route on the MonArk. I found a decent titled Johnson 15hp for cheaper though and I don't need to be standing up while screaming across the lake in a 1664. I just don't think she has the lateral stability for that.
those southern guys need to see where they are going in those swamps and stumpy creeks. most handles are adjustable or they offer different shapes or lengths. sit, stand, whatever. the surface drives are the most handy and the motors are cheap, easily replaced and the electric start ones only need a little lawn mower battery for starting.

If I decide to get the Big Fisherman that I’ve been eyeballing, I might dedicate the 15hp to it and build a mud motor for the 1664. Just have to keep an eye on the weight. They live well in eventually going to install is going to eat up a good chunk of my 900ish lb capacity
