Today I figured out how to transfer/copy/post waypoints using the Navionics Lake Maps on my Humminbird. When it gets warmer I will be able to post some sonar scan images.

Here are some examples (these are just random waypoints, not fishing hotspots!):

did you get the sd card from navionics or is that factory. i just got my 597 di installed last weekend and had it on the water for the first time yesterdy. didnt have time to play with much thanks to the daily thunderstorms. looks like todays storms are past for now might head out and see what it will do.

You can also use Google Earth to find coordinates too, then manage the waypoints in Humminbird PC and send them back to the unit. I've done that for some of the clearer lakes up here and marked the ends of points (or close to the ends anyway).

Aren't these units great!

Yes, these are awesome litle units. I haven't done the google earth thing yet, but intend to try it out when I can grab a few quiet moments at home! Have you tried the "Humviewer" software yet?

If that's the one that lets you see all the readings at once (side, down imagine, and standard sonar) then yes. I like it. When I scan docks, I hit the record button because I'm only looking at one side of the side scan at once full screen while on the water(looking for structure and fish if you're lucky). Then later I can go back and look at the other scans at home on the bigger screen. I've found humps and fish I didn't know were there using that method. As long as you have the space to record, why not!

Cool, I can't wait to try that out.
