Spectacular! Maybe one of these days I will finish a project that I start. lol

Seriously good work buddy.

Great job overall. I have to wonder though why you chose to build the new transom with wood in it instead of going for all aluminum?

And how would you propose that be done? I'm open to improving any ideas, however I have seen nothing that resembles a solid aluminum transom...

I'd put a grab rail on that console. All center consoles should have one in my opinion, especially smaller boats.

I have full intention of doing so, just as soon as my cash flow allows.

Great build. You definitely put a lot of work and detail into what you made. It has to be a good feeling when your out on the water finally. I can't wait to be floating mine!

A couple of updates:
New Hummingbird 7" Si/DI/GPS/Chart Plotter
Trailer guides
Cooler mount with seat bracket
Added Dolphin to lower unit
Remote sttering: Turns out you CAN have both the tiller steer and remote steer and not have to make any huge changes. I did this because the tiller steer has the throttle built in the handle. I have yet to purchase the top mount throttle binnacle and cables. That's the last thing next to painting the out side and this project is 100% DONE!!!

Anyone know of a good place for cheap grab rails? I'm also looking for a good, cheap electric tilt and trim for a 2010 25hp Mercury 4 stroke.

From what I've seen, their more of an OEM deal I believe. I made mine from 1" alu. electrical conduit.

Big Chevy, I plan on ordering a helix 7 side imaging as well. I just can't decide where to mount seeing as it will be my only graph on the boat. Where are you planning on mounting and where are you putting the transducer?

I want to put it up front but that limits the ability to change from SI To DI and also navigation. If I put it in back then it limits me when I'm on the trolling motor.

If I mount the transducer on the transom your getting an image 16' behind you. But if you mount it on the trolling motor you can only get an image when the trolling motor is in the water.

This posses an issue running shallow water and when your cruising around using the side imaging.

Not sure if the helix has the option but you can always do a through hull transducer. Otherwise you will need dual fish finders and dual depth finders.

Finally set time aside to prep for paint. Sanded all areas that are going to be painted and then gave it a good dawn fish soap bath. Tapped everything off just letting the rest dry out before I cover it up with plastic. I have self etching aluminum specific primer, then Duralux duck boat paint for the top coat. Any advice on how many coats of Duralux I should apply? Are there any prep steps in between coats? Any tips on painting would be greatly appreciated!
