ive seen those phantom sport johns in action when i lived in fairbanks. most everyone up there uses a jetboat since the rivers run so shallow. and its also pretty handy to be able to load all the gear or dead animals up in it and run for 3 hours on step getting back home!

that 300 is more like 140hp out of the drive. i did alot of research on jet propulsion a while back and you loose alot of power. from what i remember the 10-20hp range didnt have very much of a power drop from switching.

Welcome to the Missouri Ozarks. In my job I drive around town in Residential neighborhoods all day this morning alone I can promise I counted no less that 10 flat bottom boats with jets on them in a 10 block radius. I have been paying attention due to the fact I am getting one. LOL I'm poor and having to start with a project other than a running boat, but I'll have it on the water soon enough. Its more the norm than the exception in this part of the state, we are blessed with beautiful but shallow rivers. Oh and most outboard jets see a 30% loss so that 300 should still be just over 200hp at the pump, white knuckle ride I am sure.
