Yet another move closer to Ahab!!!
Today Dave took a trip out my way (south jersey) for what we thought would be a day full of slime dart fun, but before the fishing began a little deal was made....... "Your First Pickerel Must Be Lipped". Dave was more than glad to live up to his part of the bargain when he struck first with this lil guy.

After the release I felt a sinking feeling, I knew I was in for something big........ Well bigger than Daves pickerel  and i knew it would have to be lipped #-o ..... I was more than relieved when I felt the familiar tap-tap of a bass on the JDBaits 6" stick I was fishing. After a good fight I landed this beauty like a pro!! and thought to myself it might be a new personal best :-k :-k

Dave struck back with another small pickerel which he also gladly lipped.

But this one left him with battle scars

We went awhile with nothing, so we headed out and got some lunch (pizza!!) and went to a new spot that should have some nice pickerel. After about 30 minutes with nothing but a few bites with missed hooksets Dave was about ready to suggest we move until I hooked into another bigger bass (picture is on daves camera) A new personal best on a JDBait 4" stick!!!

Seeing this Dave changed tactics, kicked me out of my spot, and closed out the day with 2 more smaller bass.

Very Nice Bass BA!!!!!!!!

Dave nice catch'in also, but I dare you to try that on a Speckled Trout or bone crunching Redfish. Just joking, don't want to see you loose any fingers. Looks like a really fun trip.

Dude.... way to make the Capt. look bad !!!! You got the best and left him the rest !!!!!

Lippin' pickerel is for sissies !!! In my younger days I was lippin' fluke when the action was hot... and even when it was not. That little nick on his thumb is nothin' !!! My thumb would have made a good hamburger at the end of the day. [-X Now older and wiser, I leave the stupid stuff to the younger crowd. #-o

BTW - Dave looks like so,ebody was lippin' him in some of theose pictures !!!

Nice work to the both of you, and congrats on your big fish BA. Don't kid yourself though, I know Dave's thumb was just rubbed raw from the time he spent just sitting there sucking his thumb while you caught fish.

Dave, your next challenge is to lip your first muskie...and the fake pickerel muskie

What a great day we had - and the pizza was awesome as well!

Apparently the locals have been tossing cookies and potato chips to a strange creature that hangs around the lakes - the Township stepped in and posted signs to prevent people from feeding the critter. You know what happens, you start feeding them and they hang aroudn forever causing trouble, defecating and going into open trash containers. I managed to get photo of teh creature standing beside the road looking for a quick snack:

Bassaddict was the MAN! He starts off with a decent LM bass and continues catching at each spot. The last location was loaded with nice pickerel last time i was there - the water was much higher this time and it was now loaded with bass. Dennis nailed this health fatty and acted like a pro!

If by Sippy-Addict you are referring to my fondness of the state of Mississippi, you are sadly mistaken. It is an evil, evil place that no one in there right mind would ever want to live...........

HEY!!! HEYYY!!! [-X You are talking Gods country. A little behind but still a beatiful place to live (at least on the Gulf Coast). :D I actually agree with you on the very Northern part of the state.
