 7:30AM-12:45PM Windy, partly cloudy, 45-60 air temps, 56-58 water temps, muddy. Once again the action started fairly quick with the SK redeye lipless crank. Picked up three lm bass(12"-13") within the first 1/2 hour. The sun peeked out to slow down the action. Nailed a pickerel soon after but the bass were not cooperating. Then I thought the lipless crank got snagged in some submerged branch. Went over to free it up but the lure started swimming away. A big carp about 18-20lbs was at the end of the line. The beast towed my boat around for about five minutes as I struggled to land her. It surfaced about five different times but I could not get the net on her. And finally at the last attempt of netting the beast the lure popped out of her back setting her free. Nothing for a while not even with the jig. Went back to the lipless crank and slammed a big ole' pickerel. Also snagged a shad. My last bass came on a white Boogee Bait worked around some sunken timber.
