motor cutting out when wide open

Hey guys, I got my motor running again and it runs great except when I get going wide open, it cuts out and I squeeze the bulb and it picks back up. It does great at all speeds except wide open.

It's like it losing it's prime or maybe sucking air. I have replaced the bulb and have a new tank. The carb is good. Only problem I can think of is the fitting on gas tank feels like it is alot looser than one on motor.

What do you guys think?

So if you are on full throttle and just leave it at full throttle without touching the bulb or anything what happens? Does it stall?

It could be sucking air at a fitting or hose.

You may also have a pinhole in your fuel pump diaphragm.

You have an air leak somewhere in the line - you are loosing vacuum. Check at the connections and the clamps. You can try it using another line and tank i am willing to bet you have no problem then.

Check under the cowling for any loose or leaking lines as well.

A buddy's 25hp Johnson acted the same way for several weeks until he found a vacuum line had come loose.

Thanks guys... I'm pretty sure it's the fitting that goes to the tank fitting but haven't tried it yet.
