Well guys I am new to this forum. I have been lurking on here the past few weeks checking out some builds and trying to get some tips and pointers. Last week I picked up a Waco 1436 flat bottom and I am starting to get all the things together to do my project.

This is what I have picked up so far for the boat

Minn Kota V2 45lb TM w/copilot
Minn Kota 60 amp Breaker
Quick Release Trolling motor plate
Trolling Motor Transducer Mount
(2) Cabelas Max-4 Camo Highback Seats
Swivel Eze 3/4" Pedestal bases
11" Pedestals ( I am gonna have a machinist cut these down to around 4-5inches)
Humminbird 596C HD Down Imaging Sonar
(2) 27 series Deep Cycle Marine Batteries
Minn Kota Endura 45lb TM (came with the boat)

I have plans to put a small front deck for the TM and Sonar, as well as put a floor throughout the entire boat. Under the floors I planned on putting some sort of foam insulation to help eliminate some excess noise from dropping stuff while fishing. As far as the seats go, I'll put a plywood base and carpet those as well. I am still contemplating on whether or not to deck the front level with the middle bench. I took her out the other day in my ponds and stood up on the middle bench, bounced, walked and shifted my wieght with no problems. I am coming at this from a kayakers standpoint and this is my first jon boat so I hope this turns out well. The areas I fish are 2-300 acre electric only ponds/lakes as well as some small rivers and the local lake on occasion. If yall have any tips feel free to let me know.

Storage! If you do the deck make sure you put a hatch or two. You can never have enough storage.

Another suggestion, if you put a floor between the back bench and transom, I wouldn't put foam there to allow the water to get through easily to the drain, and have at least a small opening by the plug to allow you to see if you are taking on water, and keep the drain free of debris.

Nice looking rig. Just wondering, is it really gonna wreck the home? I know some fellas, who have to fight with the misses just to go fishin. Now you got a boat. Maybe that means you'll take it to your new apartment with you? :D Anyway, can't wait to see your mods, and hope it doesn't come to that!!

No it wont lead to that. The misses understands I need my hunting and fishing to keep my sanity. Calling the home wrecker because there are times when you can tell it tees her off about how much time I put into my fishing and hobbies.

First of all let me say that I love the name of your project and second, it's all about perspective. You could be spending your time and money carousing or worse. I'm sure in spite of everything, the "missus" would rather have you in the garage fixing the boat or on the lake fishing than many of the alternatives...
