Cool cool. Apparently Home Depot don't carry the 6" PVC so tomorrow I'm going to check in on Ace and see what they have. Sounding better all the time. For your brackets, did you use aluminum or SS?

for the permanent brackets i used aluminium. i riveted them to the horizontal "fin", and bolted them to the top lip. for the ones that hold the PVC, i used scrap material i had laying around.

to fix the PVC to the vertical bar, we used a thin aluminium strip bolted to the vertical bar. we bolted first the top bolt, and then as we tightened the second one, it clamped the PVC in place. this way we avoided drilling the PVC.

we did more progress this weekend. as i usually like to bring at least a couple of rods, we made this. its a rod holder, and i also mounted an old FF i had laying around, and some Goal Zero speakers for my iphone. sometimes, when i go fishing by myself, i really enjoy some country music while i set my mind straight....

heres what we made, i was carpeting it tonight but i ran out of glue.... under the board i fixed 5 shelves to put my 3700 trays. this way, the floor will be empty, for a cleaner and safer look...

i will also carpet the 3 benches, i already cut the carpet for the front ad rear bench, but i also ran out of carpet. besides i have to clean the boat very well first.

and here's a nice 3.5 pounder i got this morning. not bad for such a tiny lake...

so far, thats the progress for now.

what do you think i should do with the rest of the boat?? carpet it all over the inside?? some friends recommended synthetic grass... carpet may look nice but its a hook magnet... im not sure what to do now...

How about, maybe a flat floor? Your rig is looking good so are. Thanks for the close up photos on how you did those pontoons. Bookmarking that page so it's easy to find for reference. Thanks again.

a flat floor would be nice, it would be more comfortable... that would be a nice addition, plus the pedestal seats from the bassboat... however im afraid it would be too much weight, and maybe i would need to put another motor in there....

besides, i need to make some sort of drain plug, as sometimes i fish in the rain and there no way to remove the water other than turning the boat upside down... it was easy before, but its getting heavier as i progress....

what would you do to the sides?? if the aluminium was clean and shiny, i could leave it like that, but it still has a lot of polyurethane residues i have not been able to remove, that maybe it would be easier to cover them with something, carpet or something like that....
