Hey guys, been lurking for a while, figured I would post up my project. I picked this 60's model master craft for $300. I am making this a budget build. So far I have a grand total of $600 in it.

I traded a guitar for the Johnson 9.5
I traded an old compound bow for the Minnkota powerdrive trolling motor
I have $150 in deck supplies and paint
I have $150 in marine battery and charger

Here is what it looked like when I brought it home

The johnson 9.5 I picked up on trade

After a fresh coat of paint.

Johnson Mounted

Laying out the deck in cardboard

Front deck and carpet applied

Battery box built

List of stuff to do still
Finish the rear framing, plywood, and carpet.
Cut out the compartment doors
Buy and install new seats and pedestals.
Buy and install bilge pump
Buy and install rod holders
buy and install depth finder
repaint the old johnson

To be completely honest I haven't had a chance to take it out yet. However, I would stand on the front seats before I built the deck and it was surprisingly stable. Its pretty wide, I hope to get it out on the water this weekend. I work crazy hours during the week.

I took the boat out today and gave the deck a try. It is very strong, and suprisingly stable. I had to use one of my camping chairs for the day, Im still trying to find a good deal on a post for a new seat.
