I have my grandfathers jon boat (that I had MANY of fishing hours as a child in) and there isn't anything with it, title, age, all it says is a Traveler. Besides a paint job it is in really good shape! I could use all the help I can get. If you want to reply here that's great but my email is also [email protected]

Oh and I am going to restore it to (hopefully) brand new shape so any information would be great

What is it exactly you need or want help with?

Title, registration, paint...?

I had a similar project and started by investigating the make, model, year, markings,...etc. of the boat.

I think once you get deep down in the boat, you will be able to find some sort of identifiable markings.

A stamp on the transom somewhere, a HIN, something.

From there, I think you could take it down to the DMV with a Bill of Sale and let them guide you into how you can get it registered in your name.

In my case, the boat only had one registered owner since 1952. The guy I got it from, his grandfather.
Bill of Sale in hand, and they registered it right there.

See if you can also find the boat ID. I had mine still, and it helped me get through that process.

my 2 cents.

I can't locate a title just yet or find ANY markings in the boat which leads to not being able to find year, make, model or a paint scheme. It was my grandfathers boat so I have to sit down with grandmother to see if she has any title or anything, he's been gone for 20 years exactly

I guess I was hoping that someone could eyeball the picture and be able to tell me something. The only thing I know is its an Arkansas Traveler

.
This one sold at auction last December in Kansas.

And here's a link to a boat that looks like yours on iboats. It's an article about a transom replacement and maybe you can get in touch with the owner and get some info.

And another on iboats. Ditto the above.

And finally a Wikipedia article about the Arkansas Traveler manufacturer.

Nice boat and nice it was your grampy's. Good luck.

I'm in Missouri and thanks! Its gonna be a heck of a project to get it where I want it to be!
