When we got back last night with the new travel trailer we discovered a long carrboard tube by our front door. I got my new rod in the mail yesterday. It is a Shimano Clarus Spinning Rod 6'6" Lt Ft Taper. Planning on using it drifting for Perch (dragging a crappie rig along the bottom in 50-60 feet of water) and maybe for some jigging for Walleye. I picked up a Pflueger 8035MD this winter but think that will be too big for this rod. Guess I have to go shopping for a spinning reel now. Anyone want to throw out a suggestion for a decent reel for this?

Its allways nice when brown santa pays a visit. I would probably drop to a 30 series in the same reel. That Pflueger is a hard one to beat, I use the xt model in the 30 on my 6'6" Compre for my jigging. Great balance and very sensitive to the light bite.

I think I have the same rod, I got it for trout fishing in colorado, I have mine matched up with a shimano stradic aero 2000 (reels probably 5 years old or more)
